I wanted to build a two story home that provided separate living for each floor. My block of land is also long and narrow, so this had limitations on how wide I could go with the house. Jacon Parry and his team of professionals at SCM Projects Brisbane were outstanding in helping me transform my vision into a reality. They listened to what I was trying to achieve and would then provide me with a variety of solutions. The builder they chose also did a superb job.
Today I have a wonderful two story home, dual living home with the downstairs unit having two bedrooms & two bathrooms and a substantial size kitchen. It’s spacious and well designed. I live upstairs and again a over-size two bedroom, two bathroom unit. Throughout this experience, Jacon and the team demonstrated their experience and knowledge. I was able to talk to any of them at any time when I was unsure or needed clarification of a particular activity. Although I had some doubts I totally recommend using a competent Project Manager based on my experience. Through the entire build experience, I was made to feel as though I was their only client, even though they had plenty on the go. What I found completely outstanding, and a fabulous surprise, was receiving the home builder’s gift from SCM Projects on completion.
SCM helped my wife and me with our subdivision of a double block in Salisbury, Brisbane. It was our first subdivision project, so we thought it was wise to get some experts on board. Seeing all the things that need to be done for even a straightforward project, we’re glad we did. It’s more complicated than you think at first. SCM helped immensely and made it all a smooth and successful project for a couple of novices like us – money well spent!
SCM project managed the preparation of a single house site, comprising four existing lots, for sale as four separate home sites. The project included demolition/removal of an old timber dwelling, clearance of all physical structures, connection of requisite water and sewerage services, survey and marking of individual lots, issue of separate land titles, obtaining relevant quotes and financial control.
The project was completed on behalf of a deceased estate and all matters were supervised by SCM in a very professional, efficient, timely and friendly manner, to the full satisfaction of the client.
We were introduced to the team at SCM through our surveyor when we were finding it challenging to get clear advice and simple solutions from the various professionals we were consulting.
With a block of land we were seeking to subdivide, and nearly completed plans for 2 houses, we wanted to be fully informed of any obstacles, pitfalls and costs before starting our project.
Jacon and his team reviewed the project and gave us a clear picture of the step by step process and answers to our numerous questions.
It was a massive undertaking with quite a bit of development work needed for our block before our houses could commence, but the team took it in their stride and were always available at the drop of a hat with answers and solutions. Jacon and the team were also able to obtain further building quotes for us (which saved us additional costs) and were great in allowing us the flexibility to be a little more involved in the day to day decisions.
The first half of our project is now complete and the second well underway”.
I have been dealing with SCM for many years. They have an amazing ability to get projects across the line with GFA\’s that seem unlikely.

Hi Jacon, just a follow up note of thanks for the good advice on this lot at 43 Nicholson Street. You mentioned at the time there were two issues – one was getting council approval to subdivide on feasible terms, and the other was dealing with stormwater since its on the low side of the road. From speaking with the realtor, it seems you were bang on. Although the council was supportive of it being subdivided, the retirement village made an objection based on stormwater (the line is just inside their boundary), which apparently prevented the subdivision!
I just want to say Thank you for all your hard work in getting Albert St over the line.
I really appreciate all the extra hours you put in above and beyond the requirement.
Hopefully we can do a shit load more in the future.
I first used the services of this company several years ago on a 5 block subdivision, using them to project manage the job approximately saved me around $250,000 in costs and a year in time. I have been using them ever since including another current 2 block subdivision, a 2 block subdivision that we have just completed as well as a couple of major certification projects in residential and commercial properties I have. Jacon Parry of SCM Projects has been instrumental in the success of my projects and would highly recommend him and the team to get your job done. Over the many projects we have come across some large obstacles but each time the guys work their way through to a solution and onwards we go. I am currently looking for more projects as I know I have the team behind me to see anything I put in front of them through.

Townhouse Project Rescued Twice
I was referred to SCM back in the middle of 2013 for my Adamson street, Wooloowin Townhouse project in Brisbane but, despite making some tentative enquiries of them early in the piece, I was keen to accomplish my project by myself and potentially save a few dollars along the way. Well that was the plan anyway – I thought that my experience in senior management roles would equip me satisfactorily to handle the tasks involved. So, I pressed ahead thinking “this can’t be all that hard, surely”!?
Rescue No 1
I managed to organise my own DA after a lot of mucking around but getting past that to the next stage proved a lot more difficult and time consuming than I imagined. Time flew by and before I knew it 2015 had arrived and all I had to show was some “estimated” project costs around the $1.1M mark which was not feasible. At that point, I gave up my project management aspirations and appointed SCM Projects and what a difference that made! Their methodical approach and knowledge came to the fore immediately. They tweaked a few things, gained some efficiency’s and presented me with a builder’s contract for just over $820,000 – a staggering saving of almost $300,000. That certainly changed its feasibility!
Rescue No 2
The job went smoothly enough and was almost complete when the builder went bust. Ownership of the business, a business that had traded successfully for many years, had changed hands during the currency of my job. Not to worry – SCM took charge and competently finalised things satisfactorily with little inconvenience to myself. The savings SCM generated for me covered the cost of their services many times over and I would happily use them again. My only regret is not bringing them on board earlier.
